Holding of the General Meeting and the Research Presentation ConferenceThe HAPSA concurrently holds the General Meeting and the Research Presentation Conference in every autumn and many members attend. In the General Meeting, activities report and settlement of balance for the previous year and activities plan and budget for current year are approved. Also, important matters including reelection of board members are decided. Following the General Meeting, the Research Presentation Conference is held. In the conference, a symposium or a lecture is held in the morning as a plenary session inviting eminent learned people in the nation. Section meetings where members present their research outcomes and the exchange meeting where members get acquainted are held in the afternoon. Holding of Regional SeminarsThe HAPSA holds regional seminars in Hyogo Prefecture several times a year where leaned people and specialists give lectures on timely issues for members of the HAPSA. Support for Regional Policy ResearchesThe HAPSA provides financial and personnel supports for administrative policy researches by members in order to improve their policy making abilities and enhance policy making activities by Hyogo Prefecture and municipal governments. Research period is about for one year and research outcomes are presented at the Research Presentation Conference. Exchange with the American Society for Public AdministrationThe HAPSA performs exchange programs with the ASPA through the Evergreen Chapter. Exchange programs consist of exchange of information on websites, exchange of publications and facilities in exchange of members. Dr. Funaba, a member of the HAPSA Representative Steering Committee, attended the ASPA National Conference that was held in Portland, Oregon in March 2004. Also, the HAPSA financially supports members in attending meetings and seminars held by the ASPA in order to promote exchanges with the ASPA and international researches by members. Publication of Academic Journals and Newsletters, etc.The HAPSA issues following publications.
